Aaron was really excited and "helped" daddy take apart the crib. He got really excited when he realized he could climb in and out as well. We were prepared for the worst as we put him to bed on Saturday night. We stood vigil in our room over the monitor for sounds of toys being played with or steps being taken. Nothing!! What?? So that went well, and our evening continued. Mike and I headed to bed, not before peeking at our baby and me tearing up at the sight of him in a real bed. We went to bed and were pleasantly dreaming away when we hear "Hi Daddy!" We groan, roll over and realize it's only 5:50 a.m.!! So much for a smooth start right? Lucky for us he understood that he needed to go back to bed and did until regular wake up time. Well, so far so good. We told him he had to sleep until the sun woke up and every morning since then, he'll call out for us (around regular wake up time) and the first thing he'll say when we enter his room is "Did the sun comed up momma?" Very cute. We'll see what happens when he realizes that he has freedom in that room with toys very close by.... stay posted for upcoming night adventures....

Big Boy Bed
It's official- Aaron is growing up way too fast! We converted his crib into a big boy bed this weekend much to our sorrow. I am one of those moms that said he'd be in the crib until the last possible moment since he wasn't climbing out and I liked him contained. But then I went and had a giant child who has outgrown a pack and play for traveling. So if we ever wanted to go on vacation or to see family he would have to be big boy bed trained before then. Poor guy was scrunched into a pack and play for the past few vacations and I felt so bad. Anyway, I digress. On a whim on Saturday afternoon Mike and I decided to take the front off of his convertible crib. I had already prepared for this moment by purchasing bribes of Thomas sheets and a new pillow for him. (Believe me, I've heard the horror stories!)
