Towards the end of the day we went into an aviary. It was the best one I've been to by far. They have signs up before you go in warning that the birds are really friendly and like shiny things (like rings) and to be careful. We read it, and instantly forgot it. Oops! About three feet in a bird swooped down and bit my toe- where my toe ring is!! Then Mike had one land on his shoulder. He thought it was pretty cool- it was attracted to his sunglasses. Then the bird started licking Mike's face, we guess they like salt. Still pretty funny. But as Mike tires of the bird pecking at his cheek he tries to coax it off- not a good thing. The bird bit Mike's finger pretty hard and refused to leave. In fact, he liked Mike so much he called a friend over and two of them continued to lick Mike!!! I've never seen anything like it. We called for reinforcements (staff of the park) and they lured the birds off and onto something else. All the while poor Mike is being surrounded by park goers laughing and taking pictures of the spectacle. What a good sport he is.
Not funny anymore at this point! Notice the guy in the background taking a picture!

It's kind of like the Hitchcock movie "The Birds."
