Roller Skating

We had our first roller skating event! What fun it was!!! Aaron's playgroup decided to try their hand at roller skating and it was such a good idea. Aaron had the little plastic skates that go over his shoes and I put on regular roller skates after taking what- 15 years off? We started off slow, but pretty soon Aaron didn't want old momma holding his hand! He skated off into the sunset with his friends. He soon discovered the older kids who were zipping around the rink like pros. These guys will turn the corners and skate backwards which apparently is super cool in Aaron's book. He decided to try it. Pretty cute to watch I'd have to say, but it ended in a fall each time. Oh well. I was nervous about the falls, but he soon showed me he could fall and get back up with no worries. There was one fall that was pretty hard, and he now proudly tells everyone, "I went roller skating, went super fast, and hurt my booty!"

Dancing to the music while skating!

At least falls were fun!

Every once in awhile I would hold both of Aaron's hands and put him in between my two legs and push him to go "super fast" as Aaron called it. That was pretty fun, but whew, tiring on a momma! They had a little lunch and a few more rounds and called it a day.

Oh, I remember the days that your sister and I would go roller skating. That sure was a long time ago.
