Aaron had his first fishing experience and really liked it. The park had it's own lake there where you could rent little row boats to take out to fish. The lake is pretty big, but at this time of year there weren't many fish biting! Aaron loved going out though and helped Mike reel up the line and check it for fish. They caught tree limbs, leaves, even fingers (their own!) but no fish. Oh well. It was a fun experience anyway. At some point, Aaron probably got a little antsy so when I met them at the dock when they were done he had a little salamander friend that he was holding. Papa took a cool lure and used it to his advantage- quick thinking Papa!
Another morning we all set out to just boat and enjoy the lake, scenery and quiet (well as quiet as you can get with a little boy in your boat!) Mike, Aaron and I canoed while his parents, Sarah and Joe all got paddle boats. We roamed around the lake enjoying the day for awhile. Then we enjoyed a floating lunch together near a bank.
While we were "docked" for lunch, poor Sarah got a pretty bad injury from a pedal and it cut the trip a little short. She healed nicely and got a break from pedaling on the way back in! I have to give major kudos to her though. When the injury occurred she was in pretty bad pain, but she had her wits about her enough to yell "Peanut Butter" out loud for little boy ears to hear. Thank you Aunt Sarah! Since Aaron mimics about all he hears it would have been awful to hear other expletives come out.
I really enjoyed the day out on the water. And compliments to my boats men for helping me out. I don't know much about steering the canoe but Mike saves the day in that department.

That looks like such a nice peaceful trip. The colors in the leaves are beautiful. I also like the new blog look!
