You can't visit Mike's mom and not see her passion for all things horses. She has had horses for most of her adult life and enjoys everything about them (yes, I think she even enjoys shoveling manure- she's that passionate!). Now that she is retired from the daily grind, she even works part time at the ARC in an equestrian program there! So while we were there, we attended a horse show for her ARC students and got to see them in action. They all did very well. While waiting for her students to show, Aaron and Mike walked Peanut, one of Tricia's horses, around the showgrounds. Aaron loved it.
And of course Aaron got to ride the horses at the house too. One night his other cousins came over for a BBQ and they all got a chance to ride Jimmy around the round pen. Then a different afternoon, Tricia gave Aaron his first 'riding' lesson. She let him go around the round pen and showed him a few things like how to back the horse up, how to hold the reigns so he won't run off!, and how to get Bud to stop.
Aaron will be a cowboy for Halloween so you can see how excited he is about Gramma's horses!!
