Things that 3 year olds say are just the cutest and really touch my heart sometimes. This week is such a patriotic week for Americans. Despite if your candidate of choice won, local or national, you still have the right to make your choices which is a great gift. To make it extra special, Aaron's job at school this week is to be the flag holder while they say the pledge. So on Tuesday when people around the country were casting their vote, Aaron got to hold our red, white and blue flag with pride.
Last night, Mike was putting Aaron to bed. He came out and told me this heart touching story. They were saying their nighttime prayer when Mike added to Aaron's prayer asking God to pray for the country, to help guide the voters and all the newly elected officials- especially for the new president. Aaron then chimed in with "God, please pray for John McCain"!! I was thoroughly impressed that he remembered a name and it makes you realize how much really sinks in for kids. We've been watching the news, and discussing politics for months now but never directly to him (with the specifics). They are so young and impressionable at this age, but really are capable of more than we give them credit for...
