Chicago

Aaron and I had a great time catching up with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Joe. We loved all the activities and seeing the big city. Those big cities really have so much right at their finger tips.

One day we visited the Illinois Railway Museum and Aaron was in little kid heaven. They have actual trains that have been updated and renovated for display and actual trains running! We ran around in 3 year old hysteria checking it all out. The train rides lasted a good 30 minutes and offered some historical information on each train. Aaron's favorite was the caboose train which we rode last. I loved checking out the insides of the older trains that they are refurbished so nicely. Aunt Sarah sweet talked her way into the Ely (which is closed for renovations for everyone else!) and it was gorgeous. The lady who took us around works on it and you could tell she was really proud.

Kinda funny though, Aaron is really starting to become scared of interesting things. He wants to be very sure of whether large objects like airplanes, trains, cars etc are parked or are going to move. Since we saw a train actually moving on the tracks when we arrived he was very confused and scared that the trains in the shelters for display were going to move too. He kept asking and making sure but I don't think he was buying our answers. That fear combined with his pure excitement over the place made for some interesting moments. He wasn't too keen on the shelters, so we went through those pretty fast.
