Box 'o' Fun

We recently got Aaron a new car seat and of course it comes in a ginormous box. I always hear of people of different generations complain about kids toys today. They talk about how when they either had kids or were kids they didn't need all these toys that made noises or sang songs or had buttons to push. So I gave the old imagination a try and opened up the box on both ends, put it on the floor and watched to see what Aaron would do. And wouldn't you know, all those electronic toys haven't stunted his imagination! He decided that the box would work grandly as a train tunnel and gathered all his trains for a try. Funny enough, he's still small enough (and flexible) to actually follow his trains through the tunnel! Anyway, we've had fun playing with it this week.

On a side note, I know most of my friends think I'm crazy. We just bought our son his 4th carseat! That's what happens when you're a first time parent and don't do enough research. We had the infant one that snaps into the stroller, then he outgrew that by about 5 months so we had the next one that goes rear and forward facing. When he got super tall we bought the next step up but failed to realize that when he approaches 40 pounds he would outgrow the harness! He's only 3 and not nearly ready for the booster part so we parted ways with our money yet again to buy one that harnesses to 60 pounds! (No, he's not 40 pounds yet but we wanted to be prepared!) Whew. I guess there was really only one unnecessary seat in there, but it just feels like a million. Oh well, my kiddo is safe for awhile now. And heck, we got a train tunnel from it right?

Was it the Graco that I recommended that only goes to 40 pounds? I guess I didn't need to worry about it, since Adam is 5.5 and only 35 pounds :-).
